Tyvek comes in two main structures: hard structure (Type 10) and soft structure (Type 14). Both are made from the same HDPE material, but their textures and performance vary for different business uses.
Hard Structure Tyvek feels paper-like, stiff, and smooth. It’s stronger, holds shape well, and is commonly used for packaging, envelopes, shopping bags, or signage. It also supports sharp printing results and offers excellent water resistance.
Soft Structure Tyvek, on the other hand, is fabric-like, drapeable, and breathable. It’s ideal for apparel, drawstring bags, backpacks, and promotional items where comfort and flexibility matter. It also provides a strong barrier against dust and particles.
If you need structure, durability, and a clean appearance—go for hard Tyvek. If flexibility and fabric-like comfort are more important, soft Tyvek is the better fit.
